Up for sale is the 260th 4wd Toyota pickup to be built and imported into the United States. Or is it? Yes this truck has a show quality paint job, but that’s not how the truck was originally. Any collector of a numbered car or truck would expect most or all features to be as they were originally when it was new. For $12,900, which by the way is a lot more than the truck was new, one would expect a lot more than this truck has to offer. The use of the word restoration is sadly misrepresented here and I have a huge list of reasons why. Its a Toyota! Its a Delorean! Well the doors could be anyway. Simply put it’s a highly modified 1981 Toyota pick-up truck. The engine is out of a 1987 Buick Grand National. The turbo was removed and a 371 Wiend super charger was installed. The interior of the engine has ben modified as well, with forged pistons and all the goodies. The transmission has been rebuilt with a shift kit and heavier clutch packs. There are axle trusses, multiple shocks and kicker shocks. The brake lines are stainless braided. It has power steering and tilt wheel. There’s also a killer sound system with subs behind the seats. The doors are GULL WING, the bed tilts hydraulically to the side as well as does the hood. All from inside the cab.
