Think Snow!
Sunday, March 30th, 2008Spring is here and the days of plowing snow are over (I hope). But I thought I would post this because now is the time to plan for next year. The end of winter is the perfect time to buy a used plow. The price goes down as people dont want to store them over the summer. Plus it gives time to fabricate mounting brackets and wiring the plow to your Toyota truck. The first video explains the premise: a guy at work decided to trade in his truck. To sweeten the deal I offered him $500 for the plow. The dealer wasn’t going to give him any extra for the plow, since it was at the end of winter. The plow is a 6′6″ Western, with power angle, and it’s a unimount. A big advantage of the unimount is the pump stays off the truck when not in use. I spent the next 6 weeks engineering the mounts and set the plan into motion. It works well and I’ve had it on 3 of my trucks so far. Just thinking about it, that was 9 years ago. I havent had any trouble with the plow and it has served me well. Pretty good investment for $500.
